The girls hear the Professor use a naughty word and then go on to repeat that word all over the place. Other cartoon shows have made entertaining episodes that broach the subject of children using foul language. Unfortunately, this episode uses the same few gags over and over without much to say about the subject other than four-letter words are "bad, mmmkay?" You'd figure after years of sitcoms and movies addressing the same exact subject, the writers would have had a little more inspiration in creating this episode. Feh.

A few bright spots in this dreary installment:
The game of "rock-scissors-paper."
Bubbles: So...this is what a time-out is like. Buttercup: Ah, you get used to it. Blossom: What if this goes on my permanent record?!I really wish they would have done a better f*cking job. Two f*cking stars. Two measly f*cking stars. What a f*cking disappointment.

I never really thought that they would even make an episode like this. Ialways thought that the prof. would be clean too.

Before Curses aired, a series of ads ran on San Diego radio stations for the Golden Acorn Casino, which is about 40 miles east of San Diego. It seems that the Casino was looking for a mascot to portray "Lucky the Golden Acorn." In one such ad, a number of applicants tried to make the cut. most memorable to me (and the reason this is related to this thread) was the following:

Applicant (sounding like Arte Johnson's "dirty old man" from Laugh-In): "I'm Lucky the (Beep-beep)-kin' Acorn."
Judge (disgustedly): "Neh-ext!"

The eventual winner was a giant acorn on legs. In a subsequent ad, though, a visitor to the Casino asked how one could get good luck. The hostess replied, "You have to rub Lucky's stem."

His STEM?!? Oh, my, he really IS Lucky the (Beep-beep)-kin' Acorn!! (Groans)

Yes, the SAME word bleeped out so many times in Curses!

I LOVED the end scene showing Buttercup's mouth again being washed out with soap. It reminded me of the fan comic "Expletive, Repeated," where (1) she hears a trucker scream an obscenity; (2) she thinks about it; (3) she scares her sisters with it - in the Professor's earshot; and (4) it's on her mind as her mouth is being washed out with soap.

I always wondered what the "beeped" word was. At the beginning I thought it was f**king...I saw it again today and now I think it's holy s**t. Does anyone know?It makes me curious.
