Now that I've pretty much perfected the classic RR.NET theme for PHPBB, we really don't need the other themes. What harm is there in keeping them? No real "harm" since they all work with the forums, and they're all dark, so all the avatars and signatures will look fine. The problem is with their layouts. They don't lend themselves well to my title banners. I can't just insert a new one of varying size each month. This new theme works like the old forums. I just drop a new gif file in the directory and it's good to go. No fancy backgrounds or tables making it complicated. Plus, I have some ideas for customizing the layout of the RR.NET theme that won't work with the others.

The other issue I have with the other themes (and most dark themes for PHPBB) is that, quite frankly, they suck in the readability department. They have too little contrast or their color scheme sucks. FiBlack is a good readable theme, but not very sleek. SubBlack is okay, but their decision to use the same color for links and text is unfathomable. Even the template the RR.NET theme was based on was hard to read until I tweaked it.

Okay, I'm rambling.

Anyway, I really would like to disable the other themes. Does anyone have a good reason to keep the others around?

So people could have a choice.

Some people probably don't like the classic view, and want's to go with one of the new one(s) instead.

Heh, I think you should just leave them there.

Personally, I'd prefer you kept FIBlack for two reasons:

1. Orange and black are my two favorite colors. Okay, that wasn't a very good reason. However...

2. I am quite used to navigating my way around FIBlack. I am most familiar with this setup. I tried fishing around in classic RRN format and couldn't help but feel lost.

Anyways, its your home. Remodel it as you seem fit but for the record, I like FIBlack and hope that you can find a way to let it co-exist with the classic RRN setup.

I use FIBlack myself and am much happier with using that than the classic RR.net theme, which I don't really like (nor ever liked) anyway.

Can't you just modify the 'troubled' themes or did they somehow disallow changes to be made to them?

The other themes don't lend themselves to random sized graphics. That's why I had to rework the one logo for that theme including the addition of the background.

It's hilarious. First I get complaints that the classic theme was better. Now that we have it, it's the opposite.

I like this theme better. The gray and black theme hurt my eyes and head even more when I had a headache for some reason [and I've been getting them every other day now x_x]

edit... I kind of like subblack. OLD RRN IS THE BEST THOUGH.

SubBlack is a good theme. I didn't mean to "dis" it. They made one minor error in the stylesheet. I've only seen it come up in one place and it's rare.

FIblack is the only one that doesn't have the "King Moonraiser shakes his magic 8-ball" banner, how come?

The FiBlack theme has a brown gradient background. The 8-ball graphic doesn't look very good against that background.

If you notice, I had to make a custom version of the RRB teen logo on FiBlack due to its special background. It's a nice theme visually, but a pain to work with.

I'd like for the other themes to stick around. I've been using FIBlack since the new forum started.
