Anyone here have a complaint about a band today? Or you've heard complaints about a band you like that you think is bullshit?

I have! Like how A7X has so much mixed views. Personally, I love A7X and their album 'City of Evil'. All that anyone who doesn't like their new album can come up with about it is that' M. Shadows isn't shouting anymore.' God, that's all they can complain about, and that one reason is enough for them to absolutely loathe the album.

At least now you can understand what he's saying without having to read the lyrics!

At least now you can understand what he's saying without having to read the lyrics! I myself consider Avenged Sevenfold a decent band, and I agree that M. Shadows 'not being screamo' anymore is the weakest of weak arguments when it comes to no longer enjoying them.

Yet my main problem with Avenged Sevenfold is that they are some kind of twisted bastardization of Heavy Metal. They just seem so by the book, so cliche'. If there was a children's book called "My First Metal Band", Avenged Sevenfold has read it, and followed it step by step precisely in the making of their music.

Using all of this metal knowledge, A7X has gone to great lengths to market themselves, (mostly aesthetically) to a younger, much more musically-retarded demographic. Since these young teenagers don't listen to music outside of the radio or Music Television, they automatically believe Avenged Sevenfold is the greatest band on God's green Earth, because they borrow aspects of this awesome genre of music that nobody in American pop culture is even aware of, and whores it out to the general public.

Avenged Sevenfold is an awesome band, but only in comparison to whatever else is currently playing on day-time television or radio. I consider such a band to be "entry-level". Through a fair amount of research (lol internets), one will definately find bands far better than Avenged Sevenfold could ever hope to be in every aspect.
