Shadow's gay. SEGA should have just stuck with Metal Sonic as our favorite blue hedgehog's rival. Or Knuckles.
Really. The guy's an exact cookie cutter of those dark-hair-dark-mood anti-hero characters you find in your action anime.
Examples:
Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z
Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho
Aoshi from Rurouni Kenshin
Sasuke from Naruto
Ren from Shaman King
Rukia's brother (forgot his name) from Bleach
And the list goes on...
Then again, I guess it's stupid of me to expect the Sonic franchise to not blatantly copy Dragon Ball Z after they pulled that Super (Saiyan) Sonic shit.
...
But Metal Sonic, on the other hand, is just plain crazy (and crazy-cool too), and that's why he's so much better than Shadow, and that's why he could totally hand his (gay) ass back to him any time of the day.
So, yeah. Fuck Shadow. |

Not to mention that now we have Shadow, the whole Sonic/Knuckles rivalry has become watered down and laughable, and Knuckles himself is little more than a footnote in the Sonic Universe. Barely even sidekick status. How many times has knuckles been in his own exlusive game? And no, Chaotix doesn't count since NOBODY ever bought a SEGA 32X.
Knuckles = Original character whose abilities were opposite that of Sonic's, thereby allowing two different styles of gameplay.
Shadow = Shallow Vegeta hedgehog clone marketing gimmick with Sonic's powers plus guns.
....
On the flipside, the comic is at least TRYING to make Shadow more than just a stupid, hollow character but they got a helluva long way to go.
(Totally agree with the Metal Sonic thing.) |
