I'll bite.

Shitty formulaic angst-ridden boy band is shit. Not suggesting that the other groups out there are genuine, but this one just doesn't even bother to... you know, not make it completely obvious that they're solely intent on pandering to their target audience ("troubled" 14 year-old boys) and milking their pocketbooks. Then again, that's the whole nu metal era for you.

But since the stuff still manages to be coherent, they're a big step up from System of a Down in my book.

Don't know what to say of the new album since I haven't listened to it yet. If it's the same as the first two, though, then my position on Linkin Park being pure saturated shit still stands.

Also, if I have to see another fucking Dragon Ball Z or Naruto AMV... :argh:

Oh god. I'm going to jab someone's eye out with a specially-sharpened crayon if I hear that song in one more place. It was in Transformers for no reason at all. It's in that new movie about global warming that kind of makes sense, and today I was just watching Indy Car Racing (not on purpose) during my break at work, and it started playing on ESPN. What does a song about regret have anything to do with driving around really fast in a fucking circle? I've had it with that damn song.

Hmm, what to say. Linking Park is ok for me in small doses. It's when Chester is full blown whining...I mean screaming that it really starts to annoy me (and every song is about not being able to hold onto something...mainly a girl I think).

As for the new album (forgot what its called), it's very different from Hybrid Theory and Meteora. The first two album were very much so "experimental" in the sense that you'd hear things that you wouldn't hear in normal heavy rock music. You have their DJ to thank for most of that. The new album, however, is very much so just straight up hard rock which is more suitable for them I believe.

Overall, LP is actually a very tight band instrumentally. When I saw them with Metallica, I was rather impressed that they sounded exactly the same as they do recorded, and they do have a few riffs that are catchy (musically). Even in some sense, their vocals work. I haven't heard many bands able to pull off what LP does as well as they do it, in the sense that the two guys, Chester and Mike, are doing what they do and have it flow and sound natural. A lot of the time it's very contradicting with each other and the music just doesn't sound right...(hed) pe does it a lot better then they do it though.

Now as for their lyrics...lol...they're god-awful terrible.

Overall, I don't really think much of them (where my comment may be misleading, but that's just how I am. If I listen to music, i'm not there just to hear it, I need to gather the perspective, learn some backside story and then continue from there, even if I don't like them like Muse or My Chemical Romance...actually I "hate" the latter), the bad definitely outweighs the good, but the good is just good enough to listen to for a few tracks. I can never sit through one of their albums (which is sad because their albums are 35-40 min long each).

Unlike you people..I actually like Linkin Park..in fact I have nearly every song from theit 3 albums downloaded into my MP3 player!

I like these songs because they actually speak to me..

The lyrics fit my life experiences and past problems
