Fuckin' awesome! Great song, and a very melodic cover. It's impressive how you're able to keep up with a song that fast; you're obviously very adept.

....

And I'm not just saying that to get the Beatles cover done faster!

Edit: BTW, I should thank you for introducing Trivium to me. I'm listening to their "Crusade" album now, and it's sick.

No problem, they're an awesome band. You should listen to Anthem (We are the fire), Entrance of Conflaguration, Dying in Your Arms and Tread the Floods. Those songs are awesome and thanks for your comment :P
I'll do the WHOLE song soon enough.

Anyway Vic's preview is here but I'm having some trouble compressing Gopher/Bang's request (windows movie maker is a tard). I'll keep trying till I can sucessfully compress it if not then I'll redo it when my recording gear comes (which should be this week).
All final versions are done with the recording gear.

Vic's Request, Ken's Theme - Street Fighter

Enjoy.

hey bud,
for those dimebag squeels, pinch harmonics, or whatever, how are you doing it? Are you playing the note and then touching the string with your thumb? (obviously pitch bends are achieved via the whammy) Like, I can do pinch harmonics with pitch bends by holding the pic closer to the string and basically do a 1-2 combo hit, pick immediately followed by thumb and I can do it, but it doesn't sound quite as interesting as yours...has a very different sort of sound to it

I've been trying to figure it out and I refuse to go to guitar forums, lol

^ Hahaha, I know what you mean. I don't usually go to forums I just youtube some lessons.

Well to do Dimebag squeals you'll need a guitar with a Floyd Rose tremolo system which is what I have on my Dean Razorback.

Firstly, choose a harmonic (I usually use the 9th fret on the G string). Play the string on open, then while you're pushing the whammy bar down, slightly tap the string with your finger to activate the harmonic, then simply pull the whammy bar up and there ya go!

Be sure to add some Delay and Echo effects too, the Dimebag squeals sound even better and they're sustained longer.

If we're still making requests, then i'd like to hear Holy Orders from the Guilty Gear OST. Maybe we can have a guitar-off and see whose version is better :P

You're on :P but it'll have to wait.

I got exams for the next month or so, meaning no axe time. When those are over I have to get back to the requests that I owe everyone (particularly Gopher's smelly GF) so sorry about that X3.

You wanna do a joint cover sometime?

Ok, sounds good.
Just tell me what you're doing to get urself recorded...are you just using a webcam with some sort of mic to pick up the sound? Or a built in mic?

I don't use the built in mic anymore, I bought a Line 6 GuitarPort (recording gear) now I record my audio through that and let the webcam do the rest.

I see, well I don't have any pods, just regular effects pedals, but meh. I'll just do the ghetto, attach a mic and record the audio with webcam vid >.<

I use a bad effects pedal, although the rest of my equipment is nice :)
I have a music man sub1 model, a traynor YCV 50 blue head, and a mesa rectifier 4x12 cab. I have three pedals, an old school Boss ME-8, a Boss ME-50, and a digitech rp300...the one I use most is the latter of the three, but only because it's the one i'm most accustomed to. The Boss ME-50 has the nicest set of sounds, but as soon as I get a dual rec mesa head, that'll be my primary high gain, half gain, and probably clean source too...which is what I mainly use (gains, and cleans). Sometimes I dabble with voice mods, phasers, flanges...etc.

I can't stand the Digitech rp series (even though I've only had an RP50) I never got the right sound with it, I only found the "wah wah" effect useful.

I've heard good things about the Boss series, would you recommend them? I'm thinking about getting a Digitech Whammy pedal but I can't get both that and the Boss because I'm a hobo X3.

When it comes to effects, Boss pwns Digitech's face. If you can get anything boss over digitech, then i recommend it. If this were like 10 years ago, i'd suggest Digitech over Boss, but times change man.

Boss pedals are fantastic if you want to go with individual stomp boxes, but if you're looking into a multiple effects processor (like I have), the Boss ME-series have a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of them, they're nice. One of the reasons I sitll use the piece of crap RP300 is because it is by far the easiest multiple effects processor i've ever used, plus through my guitar and amps, the sound I get is pretty decent.
