Yeah, I know, I know, but, that's not all. I just went to my account, and got a reply from sid56.
Quote: ya but just to let u know something wrong with wikipedia sentence about the next year of ppgz disappear and appears again p.s i hope it not a trick
I also went to the Wikipedia article and saw that there is currently no info on the show coming to the US next year. I went to the article history, and it turns out that the info was removed due to "unreferenced speculation". Now I'm not so sure when the US dub will come. |

| It's very unlikely that it will ever be released in the US. And just so Dr. Casey doesn't come back bitching about how nobody likes PPGZ, I'm not saying that because I think it sucks. Craig McCracken allowed PPGZ to be made because it was being directed at an Asian demographic (at least, that's what he said on his DA account). I don't think it was ever meant to be released in the US, partly because nobody would get it's sense of humor. More discussion at PUFF. |

Frankly, I think an anime magazine is a more reliable source than some obscure YouTube user who probably hasn't got a clue where he got his info from (if not from Wikipedia).
And I agree with Gopher all thew way. |

| It's way too Japan-oriented. It might get a laugh from freaks, or really small kids, but it just won't work on the long run. |

Did you just say that this actually had a sence of humor? :rotfl:
Okay but on the serious note...No, this thing is not funny, it's about as funny as Epic Movie or Meet The Spartans...I personally thought that whoever was making this abominatin of an american tv show adaptation wasn't even trying at all...It was like "Let's make a parody, it doesn't have to be Ironic, it doesn't have to be Insiteful, it doesn't have to be FUNNY!" |

| Aw, I thought it was a cute show aimed for little kids. I wouldn't mind seeing it translated, even if it was a direct to video thing. Or they could do what they did to the Japanese version of Samurai Pizza Cats, and completely throw out the translated script and make up a new, funnier one. |

Yeah, that episode of giant PPGZ-ized Octi grabbing Bubbles didn't look like tentacle -- you can stop me any time you know. |:/
The show is better off in Japan, especially with it having so much of their culture mixed into the show. (BTW, I was aware someone else mentioned that, just felt it needed a second reminder.) And the way they changed the personalities of the girls would leave alot of the fans over here who haven't seen the anime a bit - how would I say this? Pissed like hell.
It's better off in Japan and as well as being another victim to the dreaded Rule 34.
Hah hah. I'm sorry I mentioned that last part. >:]
Seriously though, I never liked the idea. It was clever at first, but died the minute I saw Mojo and the entire population of Tokyo eating fuckin' ice cream. That ain't the show I stayed up to midnight to watch enjoyably, people! |

Ahh...
I always thought that PPGZ would have wound up a witty parody action shounen show that would take the piss off the likes of Dragon Ball Z (hence the Z), Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. Imagine: Blossom could have turned out an idealist and somewhat naive leader (i.e. Goku), Bubbles could have been the girl who always winds up becoming sidelined and useless (i.e. Bulma)... except she could have actually been the most powerful one (!) but chooses not to show it possibly because she doesn't like showing off, and Buttercup could have been the angsty, broody anti-heroine that follows the footsteps of Vegeta.
After all, these kinds of shows are the Japenese equivalent of superheroes. It would only be fair that a faithful cultural conversion of Powerpuff Girls turns out that way. But it wasn't, right?
Who would have thought that it would turn out a mediocre-to-mildly-crappy excuse of a run-of-the-mill magical girl show?
Such wasted potential. |

The English dub has now evidently started airing in the Philippines as well as on YouTube. Reviews are not promising, unfortunately. And I was looking forward to its eventual airing here in the US. <Heavy sigh...> |
