Huzzah! I'm gonna keep coming back here to let y'all know new news!

Two things, most importantly, check out our myspace
www.myspace.com/afsband1
I've probably drilled that into your brains now. But the main reason I say it now is because we've decided on putting up our 18 minute epic split into five parts, so give it a listen. It's the song that best show cases our talent as not just musicians but songwriters (i'm taking credit, I worked my ass off writing that god damn song for like 3 months).

Also, there's a blog posted on there about a new album.
We are cutting a new four track demo, hopefully on April 18th, with vastly improved quality; i'm talking like label-worthy here.

The dude we're recording with, at a place called BLuebox studios, recorded and mixed the song that is now the theme song for Hockey Night in Canada (for those of you who know what it is) so it's kind of a big deal :)

I'll keep you up to tabs on it.

I added you. Nice page.

Anyways, the band!

I love your "Tragedy" song. It's got this instrumental Coheed and Cambria feel with a slight twist in the rhythm every now and then, and the distinct bass sounds A LOT like Mudvayne. That's good, because I usually don't like hearing bass in a song, but Mudvayne was one of the two bands that made it sound good. AFS is now the other. And the drummer....he's fucking good! His rhythms are creative and very professional. It's not that same beat I've heard in other bands. In "Without Conscience" I literally thought I was listening to Tool. That's what I think about your drummer. I won't say anything about the singer because I need to hear more words (and more songs), but all in all the band is very good! Dude, keep up those damn guitar riffs. They're fuckin' epic.

....

Label-worthy? I'd definitely agree.

Hah, thanks bud. Coheed and Cambria? HAha, sweet shit. Never heard that one before. It's always nice to hear compliments, although sometimes it gets kind of disheartening in a weird way. I don't mean to sound pretentious or like an ass in any way although it'll probably seem inevitable, but it seems that nobody is willing to give us any constructive feedback, however, I haven't tried online. I guess our drummer scares them into saying what we would find as a "compliment" :P

But as for teh vocals, the songs on there are from our old album last year. April 18th we're cutting the new stuff which will be loaded up ASAP after recording. Don't take the vocals you hear here too seriously, i've vastly improved since working with our short lived singer, Justin. lol

I say Coheed because various segments of "Tragedy" reminded me of tracks from their "No World for Tomorrow" album. I listen to it like most preachers read the bible, so that was the first thing that I thought. Also, I was going to comment on the vocals in "Tragedy" but I felt the lyrics were second, and the music was the primary focus.

If you want critique, and I'd be very reluctant to give it, then I'd say that the vocals seemed out of tune with the melody of the song. I wouldn't list that as a major problem since I've heard other, notable bands do so. Such an example would be, probably, Motorhead. Lemmy's got a good voice, but sometimes it sounds like he's clashing with the melody. I personally dislike it, but others may think differently, so whatever.

Is the singing from your old singer or the new one?

The singing is me last year. We never got around to doing any recordings with any of our vocalists, which is kind of a shame but at the same time not so it avoids complications.

And I don't have anything tabbed, but I can try working on some. Any parts in particular you'd like?
