It's okay to believe in....
ALIENS!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080513/ap_on_re_eu/vatican_aliens
Quote: In the interview by the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, (Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory) said that such a notion "doesn't contradict our faith" because aliens would still be God's creatures. Ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom, he said.
The interview, headlined "The extraterrestrial is my brother," covered a variety of topics including the relationship between the Roman Catholic Church and science, and the theological implications of the existence of alien life.
Sounds like SOMEBODY owes Galileo an apology.... |

| Sorry, sweet Rose, but as Dr. McCoy of Star Trek would say: "He's dead, Jim." No human can bring him back. |

Pope Benedict XVI looks like a person I wouldn't trust with anything. He reminds me, in many ways, of the bishop from V for Vendetta.
Dirty man  |

He looks more like Palpatine to me.
And yeah, it's cool how Catholics are so progressive among Christian sects (without getting too ridiculous like Creationists), with the acceptance of the theory of evolution and now this. I suppose they're trying to clean up after the whole let's-burn-anyone-who-says-the-Earth-is-round-and-that-it-revolves-around-the-Sun shebang. |

Hahahha, I hear you. But that was a long time ago.
Anyway, the theory of evolution was widely accepted by Catholics long time before the Pope said so. They believe that the religion explains who created us, and that the science explains how. |
