That's ridiculous. Although I can see how the BMI can get screwed up like that when it comes to children. Still, that picture of that fat kid in the mcdonald's there always cracks me up.

What the hell does "six stone" mean? Is that a medieval way of saying "really really fat?"
Anyways, I just can't see what these parents are getting angry about. Just be glad their whopper-munching brats are being called overweight, and not obese. That's when the health problems really start to kick in. God forbid any of them visit the MyPyramid site.... |

It's a unit of weighing yourself that is mainly used over here. 6 stones in pounds would be 84 I think. |

^ 84 pounds at 4'9? I just used one of those BMI calculator things and it's actually underweight...
Damn, if 84 pounds is considered fat on WiiFit, I better not get that game! XD;
I can see why parents are getting upset... I mean, consider the fact that young kids take everything to the heart, and telling them they are fat at such a young age, no matter how it is told to them and whether it's true or not, will make them self-conscious about it. Any parent who cares about their child doesn't want that happening to them, they obviously want their child to feel good about themselves. |

If the picture of the kid in the article is the one of the kid mentioned, someone isn't totally truthful, as 6 pounds at 4'9" is (as Elmo already stated) considered underweight at a weight of 84 pounds, yet the kid in the pic looks as if he is much heavier than that.
If the woman is right, Nintendo's apology is fitting; if it's not, then the woman owes Nintendo an apology. |
