Three years? Try eight. I got Diablo II the month it was released and I STILL find time to play it once in a while even eight years later. Hell this whole news made me blow the dust off the level 80+ sorceress.
First you take my childhood, now you take my adulthood Blizzard. :argh: |

You had no idea the sorrow to find my unbeatable Barbarian Avo, and Singeomatic the summoner of Gods Necro were both gone. Forever. Damn you Blizzard, why can't you make your D2 saves like WoW?
I must say i'm very intrigued about new races, A.K.A. the Witch Doctor. It's an exciting idea, especially that he kinda doubles as a necro. Necros were Godly. I can only pray it's as epic as it looks. WoW may need to take a backseat for a while |

Personally, I'd like to smack all these protestfags in the face with the shovel of doom. "Baaaaaaaaaw, it looks like Warcraft now and I don't like it! They should redesign everything in the entire game or I ain't gonna play it!"
*Ahem*
THIS JUST IN: NOBODY GIVES A FUCK!
The characters look exaggerated? GREAT! I don't want my dude looking like an average prick. It's 2008 and I'm going on 23; I don't have patience to just sit around with a game character that looks like boring average joe in leather scraps. I want him/her to look like a badass fuckin' hero! And it doesn't look all THAT different from Diablo. Ooooh, and 39,000 votes on an online petition. Cuz, we all know petitions really do change the world right?! I mean, Uwe Boll stopped making movies because of a petition! Canada is no longer blocking the RRB episode because of a petition!
Oh wait, nevermind. Petitions don't do shit.
Faggots.
....
These morons fail to realize the most important thing about Blizzard's fast-paced games. WoW, Diablo, Starcraft, etc.... they're all good for one thing.
PVP.
That is the only reason anyone cares about these games. If you've seen their communities for even an hour, you'll notice that they don't talk about anything else. Sure, they got RP and PVE servers for WoW, but their player-counts are pathetic compared to the PVP ones. Nobody plays WoW to beat up Arthas; nobody plays Diablo to beat Diablo....they just want to duel with other players. It's sickening, but that's all those games are ever good for. While I admit that the artistic change is noticeable (if only mildly), it's pointless to complain about. |

They take out their blood to demand dark theme to reappear in Diablo III? Absurd faggots! New changes sure will bring in new excitements, not to mention the facts that we were waiting 8 fucking years to enjoy the new sequel in all of it's aspects, not just to observe it's outlook then moan like vexed children!
Retards should dai...! <<

I don't really agree with the idea of the graphics needing a change or it being too bright or it being too much like WoW, so long as it keeps the fun hack and slash thrill I got when plowing through hundreds and thousands of enemies.
BUT I will say this... Am I the only one who remembers what it was like to walk into level 2-3 of Diablo I in the cathedral, hearing all these villagers talking about this horrible demon that has been butchering townsfolk, and finally meeting him? The guy was huge compared to everything else you fought and was a bloody demon with a huge butcher's cleaver. He was tough as hell too, fighting him head on was certain doom. With the dark graphics and the grand set ups, it was pretty scary. And I remember feeling pretty freaked out at the time because of all the butchered people hanging on meat hooks and being cut in half and just hanging lifelessly in the room the Butcher came out of. It was really a unique experience for it's time.
I'm all for great graphics, great action, and a lot of fun... But even I gotta see where the elitists are coming from. It would be nice to see some Diablo III material that shows it isn't leaving it's roots. |

| I think this needs to be said: Universes change. The previous Diablo games were dark, and it seems like is finally like the light at the end. I don't know if it IS the end, but two games of darkness, some light is a relief to be honest. D3 is going to stand out if nothing else because of the new darkness that resides in light. Shazam bitches, bow down to Pyro. |

True; I can understand if they're complaining that there isn't gonna be blood. But they're just saying it looks too fancy and flashy to be a Diablo title. Personally, I'm GLAD it looks like Warcraft. I love Warcraft.
(Ironically, WoW plays more like a Diablo title than a WC one but heh, I ain't complaining.)
All in all there's probably 15 minutes of footage of the entire game (in one, mebe two different levels), so I don't see how they can credibly argue that the game's overall art is going to derail the feeling of the Diablo Universe. If blood and gore is being removed then hell, I'll sign the petition myself! But it just sounds like it's just a complaint of detail. In that case, they should wait until some more footage comes out before getting all butthurt. |

So apparently the petition to get the color style of the game changed got enough signatures and attention that Blizzard felt that they should give a response. Heres the links:

Lots of info to be had and a lot of good points.
Also, details on the Necromancer:

You already previously informed me that the Witch Doctor was going to act as the necromancer, and i'm all for it.
After I finished up my runs with Barbarians I decided to branch to Druids, and then to Necromancers before moving over to everything else. Necromancers were very "cheap" fighters, because I used to have 32 skeletons without revives. Skid saw me, I used to walk into Hell dungeons and stand there, and then i'd talk on AIM or relax. I wanna do some damage, Witch Doctor sounds awesome. |
