A/N: I don't personally consider this mature content, but it's better to be safe than sorry, so...MATURE WARNING!

This is so perfect, Brick thinks as he zeros in on the slim figure of one Blossom Utonium, some twenty yards down the hall. She is exchanging books in her locker, completely unaware of his presence.

Brick smiles, glad that Fate has seen fit to throw him a bone after one of the shittier days in recent memory. His girlfriend breaking up with him, Boomer getting mashed potatoes in his hair at lunch, his damn math teacher failing him on the midterm…not end-of-the-world things, to be sure, but Brick is thoroughly annoyed, and he hates being annoyed. He prefers being in control.

Brick calmly saunters down the hall towards his quarry. His schoolmates give him a wide berth, as usual. Brick pretends to notice Blossom as he passes by, and casually leans against the locker next to hers. He pauses just long enough to give Blossom time to figure out he’s there, and then he addresses her.

“Afternoon, Blossom,” he says. It is a completely innocuous statement, and to anyone else, it just sounds like he’s saying hi, but Brick infuses it with just enough Brick-ness, that he knows Blossom will take it as a subtle threat. Which is exactly what he wants. After all, the existence of each is a threat to the other.

He can see her about to reply, after all, Blossom Utonium is nothing if not polite, even to her arch nemesis, but damn if something doesn’t distract him. As she reaches up to grab another book from the top ledge of her locker (she is a head shorter than him), he notices the shape of her profile.

At first, it is completely by accident, just an inadvertent flick of the eyes, but when Brick sees it, his eyes develop minds of their own, raking up and down her body, once, twice, in a desperate attempt to capture the image for future review. He drinks in the smooth twin curves of her back and stomach, the gentle, yet quite pleasing, swell of her chest, the soft lines of her shoulder and arm, the small, delicate shape of her hand and the reaching forms of her fingers. His eyes slide downwards, to take in her lower half, clad in only a miniskirt that he was sure that prude of a professor had never seen, else she wouldn’t be wearing it.

The whole episode takes perhaps a second and a half, if that, but it is enough that Brick totally misses Blossom’s forthcoming response. He stills his hand to prevent it from slapping himself—fucking hormones—and settles for a mental beat down instead. He is the leader of the Rowdyruffs; he should have better control of himself.

Blossom abruptly shuts her locker, in a way that says she fully realizes that Brick missed what she said, and that she has no intentions of talking to him anymore. As she bends down to grab her bag, Brick gets a lovely view of her—Goddammit, Brick!

“Wait a second, Utonium; I’m not done with you!” He chases after her, having been frozen to the spot as she walked away. His heart is pounding for all the wrong reasons, and it is driving him mad, but he is determined to turn this situation around.

“Well, I’m done with you. Seriously, Brick, if you have something to say, you should try not to let yourself get interrupted like that.” She shoots him a triumphant look, and it is all he can do to keep himself from starting a fight right there in the hallway.

His blood is boiling; she will not get away with this. The bitch knows she’s hot, for god’s sakes, and she’s using it to her advantage! Using him!

He lays a firm hand on her shoulder. “This isn’t over,” he hisses in her ear. “We’ll settle this the way it should be settled.”

Blossom turns. She raises an eyebrow. “With a fight? I don’t think so, Brick. I have a paper due tomorrow; I don’t have time to beat you up.” He has to force himself not to look at anything but her eyes, so he notices when her eyes stop meeting his, look down, linger just a fraction of a second too long on him. Anyone else would’ve missed it, but Brick sees.

He smirks at her, knowing he has won, and leans down to whisper in her ear. “You shouldn’t let yourself get distracted like that.”

Her slap stings his face, but it is well worth the burning crimson in her cheeks as she storms away.

Necessarily, I don't see good fanfictions like this one, but luckily you put that to a stop. Lovely work you have here, excellent use in vocabulary and grammar. The story in general is quite alright, but I don't have enough to back that up. Anyway, keep it up. You have yourself a reader.

And weclome to the forums. I do hope to see you around the other sections. :)
